Marisqueira "I"

Where to Eat · Zambujeira do Mar, Odemira

A beer hall and seafood restaurant on Rua Mira Mar, in the centre of Zambujeira do Mar. A fish and seafood house, as you would expect in a fishing village on the Costa Vicentina, with traditional Portuguese and Alentejo cooking.

Shellfish is the heart of the menu — seafood platters, prawns, goose barnacles and seafood skewers — alongside fresh fish and seafood rice. House specialities include prawn fritters with bean rice, John Dory pasta, razor clam rice, black pork loin with clams Alentejo-style and fried lamb chops with garlic and shellfish.

There is a terrace and a bar, bookings are accepted and it serves lunch and dinner, open from 12:30 until 1 am. In the low season it closes on Tuesdays.

It is a few steps from the Nossa Senhora do Mar chapel and the beaches of Zambujeira, and a starting point for the Fishermen's Trail of the Rota Vicentina.
