Tasca do Celso

A Portuguese and Alentejo restaurant in the centre of Vila Nova de Milfontes, on Rua dos Aviadores. Despite the name, Tasca do Celso describes itself as a modern Alentejo tavern: traditional recipes, fresh produce and a warm setting, with wooden beams and a fireplace for the colder days.

The menu is built around fish, seafood and grilled meats. Specialities include fish and monkfish rice, prawns, clams and other shellfish, cataplana, steak, pork and roast kid, with regional desserts such as sericaia to finish.

There are several dining rooms and a terrace, which makes it a good choice for families and groups. Bookings are taken by phone and email.

It is in the village centre, close to the Mira river and the beaches — a good place for dinner after a day at the beach or a stage of the Rota Vicentina.
